Family
|
The absence of school, extracurriculars, clubs, sports, teams, etc., may leave your family with extra free time! If you're looking for some fun activities to drive home lessons or to just be silly, here are some activities we would recommend! |
Cup Stack This is a pretty simple game but can be played multiple times and with different rules and difficulties! All you need is multiple cups of the same size (I use Red Solo Cups) in groups of 6, 10, or 15! The object of the game is simple: to be the quickest to stack the cups up in a pyramid, and then take the cups down into a single stack! The game can be made challenging by blindfolding players, only using one hand, or having teams take turns turning this into a relay! Copy Cat This is one of my favorite games! It is very simple, and only takes paper and pencil! (Or white board if you have it). One individual is "It" and is drawing a picture. The must give hints as to what they are drawing ("Put a square here, a line here, etc.) and by only going a piece at a time, see how close the others are to the original art work! |
Family Distractions |
As we seek to develop new schedules and routines, we may simply need some time filled, distractions from news that sounds scary, or intentional times of rest! We hope these options can help you find rest and joy in the days ahead! |
Music: The video below is part of our YouTube Playlist, "Children's Worship" which is not only a great resource for involving our kids on Sunday morning worship, but also as we look for music/sounds to fill the background as we clean our rooms, do our homework, or have impromptu dance parties in the kitchen! |
Another option for streaming music is our SONquest Playlist on Spotify! Check it out here!

YouTube videos: There are so many great options for kids to tune in and watch silly shows, educational shows, church content, etc. Your kids may already have their own favorites! But if you'd like some recommendations, here are some channels we love to watch!
The My Life Matters Show is put on by a ministry located right here in North Carolina! They regularly are in the school system with engaging curriculum, fun games, and positive Gospel based messages and lessons, so as they switch to put that content online during this time, we'd high recommend tuning in! |
